Oil pressure gauge light on - ? 1800

I have a '72 es, that is great, have been using it as a daily driver for a couple months now and love it.
Today after driving in some pretty intense heat for our climate - 90 deg, the light on the oil pressure gauge has come on and seems to be staying on. The pressure showing on the gauge while driving is approximately 60psi, and the oil is showing full. The car has 150,000 miles showing.
Is this the oil pump not circulating? All it says in the manual is to 'stop the engine immediately and find out the reason'.
Any insight appreciated.
Cheers,
Nick
