AC RECHARGE on 94' 940 turbo

I recently purchased a 94' 940 turbo wagon.This car has a R-134 AC,original
equipment, needed a recharge. It seems to have only one pressure hose connector
by the silver recipient,I could not find the other one,so,I had the system empty thru that one, then charged with the correct amount using the same
connector.AC was very cold for 1-2 weeks then the compressor did not kick in
anymore when it got very hot outside,it does not look like its loosing pressure(I introduced some dye in the system to spot any leaks).Does anyone know the
correct procedure to charge this type of AC.
