rack and pinion leaking

The bad news is repairing a leaky rack is beyond the average Brick owner. The good news is a steering rack is not hard to replace (see the Brick Board's 700/900 FAQ)and rebuilt racks run about 200 bucks. Better yet I've found a couple of newly rebuilt racks on Bricks in my local pick and pull. My P&P charges about $40 for a used rack. I bought one on half price day for twenty bucks! It's a good idea to replace the tie rod ends, ball joints and radius (strut) rod bushings while your at it. Hope this helps. Good luck.
