Middle mounting bolt on V90 starter missing or not??? S90-V90

Looking at the starter from underneath, from the rear looking forward...

There appears to be no bolt in the middle hole. I took the bottom bolt out to see if I needed the same size for the middle hole and it was too big to go in the hole, at least from the rear side. I looked at the mounting from the front side and there is something in the middle hole, visible just above the solenoid.

What is supposed to be in that middle mounting hole and does in go in from the front or the back side??? Is it just a locating stud or something??
