Bulb out relay 700 1989

I am attempting to check out my bulb failure relay and I am having trouble accessing it. The relay/fuse board only comes out 3/4 of the way, I have yanked and pulled on the pony tail but it just is not long enough to allow me to pull the board all the way out. So I figure if I remove the radio tray I could get to it. I know how to remove radio but I cannot get the black tray/box it sits in out. Anybody want to enlighten me? I appreciate any info., as well as any tips on relay work you have done. Thanks.

Oh yeah- I also want to replace my engine temp. sensor by removing intake mainfold. The nuts to manifold very calcified and I do not want to break them off, any suggestions? Should I clean them up with rotary tool? How much of a PITA? Thanks again.
