Tranny conversion to Synth 900

I was wondering if there is a preferred method to converting to Synthetic ATF?
I will be converting both my 1990 745T (144k) and my 1993 944T (116K).

I really don't want to change the filter myself, so I thought I would have the shop do it for $50.
So I am thinking that I would get that done first, then do the swap where you use the line to the AT cooler and switch out 2 qts at a time.
