230FT: M47 versus M46 700 1991

hello dogs, woof!

so we're going to drop an AW71 {'91 745, 220k mi}

wish is to go to a true 5spd, M47 .. could live with the M46 electronic overdrive, but would rather the true 5spd M47.

I've perused and read most of this boards pages, like the AW71:M46 conversion page. very nice work there on that page.

Question: any experienced dogs here "done" put an M47 in place of an automatic?

Question: Anyone have 230FT manual tranny pros and cons?
especially M47 versus M46 on a 230FT.

& Are there other manual tranny boxes that would fit our 230FTs?
