1992 960 wagon-transmission faults 900 1992

I have a 1992 960 wagon with a AW-30-40 automatic transmission, with the economy,sport & winter selector mode switch.

Problem: Over the last 7 years my transmission has frequently faulted for no apparent reason, the problem has progressively gotten worse as time goes on.
Sometimes when it faults, the transmission will slip in and out, other times it will go into limp home mode and shift fine.
The hotter it is outside the worse it is.

There are 2 factors that play into this fault, Hot ambient air temp. 80 degrees +, and Bumpy roads.

Temperatures below 80 degrees, the transmission rarely faults.

I recently replaced the selector mode switch, afte talking with a foreign auto shop.
The problem is still there.

I'm suspecting I have an electrical issue (bad solder joint)?, with the brain.

Anybody ever experience this problem?
