940 Wagon or Sedan, Which Would You Buy? 900

I bought a white 940 sedan last summer with 93K for $5200. I does everything I need and averages 25 mpg on the highway. I got the sedan over the wagon because it was about $1300 cheaper (also white) than a comparable wagon at the same dealer, and it's a little quiter than the wagon. 99% of the time it's just me (80 mile, each way commute). However, the 940 sloping rear windshield is slightly harder to see out of than a 740, or the wagon, but no big deal after an adjustment period.

I chose the NA over the turbo for lower total overall repair costs, but occassionally I long for the turbo power when I need to pass someone or need to keep my position on the highway with surging traffic. However, my 93 940 sedan seems to be geared differently than my 93 240 wagon even though they have same engine and tranny, and are very close in weight. The 940 feels peppier off the line and while passing.

My wife has a NA V70. The power in that is great, even without the turbo. I was thinking of replacing my 940 in a few years with an S80. But since I have been following the FWD board for awile, their posts seems like horror stories at times and scare the crap out of me about what can go wrong and how much it cost to repair, and how much harder for a DIY'er to fix.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy either one.

Tom
