740turbo questions 700

hi all,
I was digging around in my 740 turbo today and found a fue things that baffle me. 1. I know I need new engine mounts, there are two kinds I belive
hydraulic and solid/ square and round?is it as easy as square or round?if so I answewed my own question . if not how do I tell the differance?
2. My a/c compressor makes noise like squealing, i poped the hood and saw that the wheel on the compressor was spinning at regular speed then slowing down but the belt looks as if it is still going full speed, this only happenes if i put the a/c on. Do need to replace the compressor? can it be fixed?If replacement is is the answer can i pull it out and still drive the car without any noticable differance, except for the fact that the a/c wont work? Thank you in advance yet once again
