Sunroof switch 700 1988

When the sunroof is up, and the switch is depressed to lower the roof, it does not stop at the "home" or closed position. Instead it goes right into "retract" mode. The same is true when closing the roof from an open position. It goes right past the "home" or shut position into the "up" position.

Has anyone seen this before? Is it the switch in the dash or a microswitch in the actual sunroof mechanism?
