1986 245 DL Will not start, Engine Harness? 200 1986

Ok this is getting serious. My wife is suggesting that we put Inga (1986 245 DL 170K + miles)out to pasture. My Alternator died last week and I had to get AAA towed in. The AAA is the idea of the board by the way, kudos for that suggestion.

I installed the rebuilt alternator and no start. The fuel pump relay will not give me that magic click. The pumps run when jumped. There is 12 Volts on the relay, and all the fuses check out.

Inga never has had the wiring harness changed. I moved a harness that runs under the engine quite a bit. What is this going to? The Black and Blue Volvo Box on the front passenger Fire Wall is where the harness seems to go. Its has 85W on its side. The Alternator Light wire comes out of this bundle and it is in bad shape.

Learn me about this oh guru's of the BB. Could this cause the problem, and where do these wires come from and go!

I need to fix this car soon, the wife is talking PT Cruiser. Save me from this!
