Engine swap? B230F and B21F? 200

Hello all,

I have two 244 DL's, a 1980 with automatic transmission and a 1987 with manual transmission. The engine in the 1980 is toast and was diagnosed by the previous owner's mechanic as a spun bearing. I bought the 1980 as a parts car, but it is in great condition (besides the block). Is it possible to use the block and head from my 1987 car in the 1980 car? Will the bolt-ons (alternator, PS pump, etc.) work, and will I be able to use the 1980 wiring harness if I keep the 1980 accessories? Any insights will be greatly appreciated. I am a sucker for the round headlights and general stylings of the older models and would love to get this car back on the road.

I am relatively new to the forum, so please point me to another thread if this topic has been discussed before.

Thanks!
Keith
