Mounts? 200 1989

On hard acceleration it feels like something underneath is jumping up and I hear a noise that I think is the driveshaft rubbing something. I went to change out the motor mounts last night, starting on the pass. side, and it was fine. It was pliable and intact, no oil on it. Ran out of time before I could get the dr.side checked out. While I was under the car(properly supported)I noticed that the driveshaft appeared to be awful close to the heat shield and was not centered in the tunnel. It also looked like the whole eng/trans was slightly tilted down towards the back. I could easily raise it slightly without much effort.Would a trans mount cause this? How about the thrust bearing(or whatever it's called)although it seemed to be O.K.I couldn't get it to move around or anything.Any suggestions where to look next? Oh yeah, the shifter is just the slightest bit hard to get into drive when shifting up manually.
