Dang, $120 seems pretty steep for a used cat unless it was an almost new OEM turbo cat! As far as the "legality" of used cats, screw 'em. If I snagged a used cat and it worked, then the government could kiss my well padded a$$!!!

In my experience, if you have some "old" reputable muffler shops in town (not one of the chains) they could probably weld you in a universal cat for less than you'd pay for a mail order cat.
