mysterious intermittent start problem (revisted w/new info) 200 1991

well, i got the codes off the obd-1 unit. i got 2-4-1 off the ignition and 1-2-1 and 1-2-3 off of the FI. I checked the faq for these codes and I don't understand how these could be interfering with the ignition system. The first one is low flow in the EGR, second one is wire fault to AMM and third is wire fault to the ECT. So, what gives?! replaced the ignition coil and the OBD unit test for the speed(position/rpm whatever you call it)sensor checks good. are these tests reliable? Am I doomed to hours of trial and error in the electrical system?

any help, appreciated! thanks bb!
