Flame trap fun! 200

It's possible you actually DID ignite the oil vapors, which is what the flame trap is supposed to prevent. You had a backfire due to the plugged breather system.
These parts are all cheap cheap cheap whether you get it from Volvo or from a place like FCP Groton- flame trap kit is only $2.50, including the black plastic holder. For that price, you just throw the old one away.
