lower heater hose routing..help please

Crap....I thought I thought I was home free...but when I connect lower heater hose to firewall(already clamped on block side).. It keeps running into the AT dipstick. If connnected...dipstick not able to be lifted... Facing the car front to back...does that hose go around the right side or left side of the AT dipstick. I have it going in between the oil dipstick and fuel line before it bends and goes into the block. Its hard to photograph. JOHN
