Outside temp gauge 900 1993

I got a new instrument console from the salvage yard to fix the broken flex circuit on the old one which caused me to lose my warning lights (thanks for the tip from a previous post). The "new" one came with a hook up for outside temp, which plugged in nicely to an existing plug behind the dash. The digital temp gauge (Lower left corner of dash) now has power but an erroneous reading
-188 and a red LED. I assume probably because I need a sensor. Where does the sensor attach on the 940? I guess there must be a correponding plug somewhere in the engine compartment.

Thanks.

Tom
