tires

i have bridgestone 245/75/16s they hold 80 psi they skid very easy i lowerd them to 40 will this hurt my tires as long as i dont have weight on it at 80 psi it was dangerous on dry road and we wont even go to wet!its a chevy 2500 two wheel drive would un hooking the sway bar when im empty help this truck the dealer was no help and it handels like shit i have driven one ton dualys that handeld better and even a mack with camel back springs bob tailing handels better what can i do to fix it
