Need to bleed master cylinder...How to? 200 1975

Hello all,

I'm giving the brake system a good going over, I changed all the rubber lines and had the reservoir off to clean it, so the master cylinder has been drained. I picked up some brake lines (about 18 inches worth) from the pic-n-pull, but I need a refresher on the procedure.

Do the lines need to just dump fluid back into the reservoir or do they need to be submerged in the fluid? And can I short stroke it, I don't want to damage the seals by taking it to far.

Thanks,
