Is tailpipe replacement a DIY job? 900

My son just replaced the tailpipe on his 240, a similar problem. The difficulty is in getting the old tailpipe to come off the rear muffler. He first cut the tailpipe off just in back of where it slips over the muffler outlet. Then he used an inexpensive angle grinder to carefully grind the tailpipe down where the tailpipe and muffler are connected. (I wish we had a photo!). He ground the tailpipe until he nearly reached the muffler pipe underneath. Then it was easy to break the tailpipe free and pull it off. If you do this, be sure to wear eye protection!
