URGENT... near the end of my blower motor replacement... Gotta Question !!! 200 1990

Gentlemen,

Almost done with the blower moter & heater valve replacement (looks like I will be completely done in 5.5 hours) and have reached an impass. PLEASE READ ON!!!

Why is the new resistor pack and switch different than the original? I had to cut two wires -one red/white and the other white/black- in order to remove the old resistor unit. I also noticed that the new resistor & switch lacks the aforementioned wires and associated contacts. Is everything going to be okay or do I have a problem? Do I just leave the two wires cleanly cut and stashed behind the dash?

Please excuse any spelling or grammar errors as I just came in for a breather and a soda... I'll check back in an hour, or so, after I tighten up the dash, cluster, and radio. Thanks so much, Jon
