I'm betting that you have a disconnected or broken throttle cable. If you can put the gas pedal to the floor and it's still idling (with no audible change) then the throttle plate isn't opening.

If the fuel flow were to remain constant, and the throttle plate did open, you would probably stall the engine since you'll be dumping a TON of air in and not enough fuel to provide proper mixture.

For starters, I'd look at the throttle linkage under the hood. Sorry, K-Jet is not my area of expertise... -but there should be some sort of aluminum wheel with a couple of cables secured to it near the intake manifold. Rotate this and see if you can get the engine speed to increase. Look for any cables that are slack or do not have noticable tension on them and trace them to their sources. You may have a broken cable somewhere between the throttle body (butterfly valve) and the gas pedal.
