Electrical Problem 900 1994

Today the car died on the wife.... I came to the rescue (4 hrs later) (she was around the block from home) and it fired right up and was running great..

Brought it home and let it run in the garage while eating dinner... Went out to check and could immediatly headlights dimming (we drive with headlights always on) and went to fetch the Volt meter.... Found it to be at 10 volts and raised rpm and found no change.

I however do not believe alt. light was on dash, but can't confirm because it died and won't restart and I have neither cables or charger... Need to let stand to let battery charge itself...

I did however notice that "Most" of all the "Idiot" lights on dash are not functioning when key is put to on postion???? The only lights functioning is the "Seat Belt" and "SRS", does this make sense?

Is the voltage regulator seperate from the Alternator?

Thankx
KEvin
