Shims? 700

Hello Folks,

Sorry About the last post - itchy return key finger. But I was wondering if the shims used for valve adjustments are interchangeable between the B21, B23 and B230F engine types? I want to salvage the shims off some older 240's (at the bone yard) for my newer 740 with B230F engine.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

P.S. You may wonder why. Well, I have a dealer in Calgary who claims that they have a set of parts for the service department and then a different set of parts for the parts counter. They would have to order the shims from Volvo NA...even though they can do valve adjustments in service on the same day. Go Figure. I guess they can't walk over to the garage and get a customer a couple of shims.

To boot they tell me I should go to IPD and borrow their kit!!! I guesss they don't need business. Screw them, I will have my way yet. Sorry for the venting!!!
