Hi, I just replaced my whole set up, window and mechinism inside. With the GREAT help of Brickster Aye Roll. Please check out this link for step by step instructions on how to disassemble the door panel and replace rollong mechinism (and window). I'd check if the teeth in the handle are stripped, you might just need to replace the handle, you can get a new handle from a boneyard, Volvo dealer or on the web. (instructions on handle removal also here) Again, all the info in this link came from Aye Roll.

It was suprizingly easy with with these instructions in hand! I disassembled my door, removed what was left of my window..(nothing left just a bottom bracket) and the rolling mechinism, did it again on the Brick in the junkyard, put the new rolling mechinism and window in my car..ALL in less than 45 minutes.(including the walk to the Volvo in the yard, waiting in line to pay for the parts) Cost total: window $20 mechinism $8.
