H E L P ! Impossible to open the HOOD with the white pulling lever 200 1988

Alas..I have had these puppies pull off in my hand also. Take heart. The grill can be removed with the deft use of needle nose pliers just under the hood. If you still have the plastic spring-loaded clips - one on either side of the top of the grill simply turn them till the tip blade is aligned with the car. Lift up on the grill and (watch now) looking under the grill see that the bottom two plastic inset parts of the grill clear their respective slots. Ease the grill out bottom end first and viola' you can now manipulate the hood latch mechanism...after you spray the devil out of it and open your hood. Sound like you may have pulled the whole cable out in which case you need to rethread and resecure the cable through the pulling mechanism on the slide. Good luck. I also apply copius amounts of vulgarity during these procedure so, should you be so vexed, clear the area of kiddies and sensitive pets.
