Addendum and general counsel to souls experiencing similar hood unlatching challenges.....should you perchance own a 240 (my area of psuedo-expertise)...I advise a strong, slow steady pull as opposed to the "grab the bastard and give it the jerk of your life" approach. This slow steady pull has, in my experience, been rewarded with the life affirming "pop" of a hood that knows what is good for it.
