Is replacing the RPM sensor the answer? (91 740) 700 1991

Last week I reported that in hot weather with a warm engine, if I turn off the engine and try to start it up a couple of minutes later, it won't start up. An hour or two later, it starts fine. You guys called the problem a Hot Soak: Won't Re-start problem and directed me to the FAQs.

I read through the FAQ "Ignition Failure after Hot Soak: Won't Re-start" and have a few observations and questions.

For the car in question in the FAQ, replacement of the Hall sensor was thought to be the solution and it was recommended that replacement of the distributor which I believe includes the Hall sensor would be the easiest way.

Then I read a little further in the same FAQ section and it said that my year car, 1991, does not have a Hall sensor, but rather an RPM sensor. The FAQ does not go on to say if indeed the RPM sensor is the likely culprit for the hot soak re-start problem. Is it the problem? Is it easy to locate and get at under the hood and replace? Is it part of the distributor like the Hall sensor? What specific part do I order: RPM sensor (if that is the culprit) or the whole distributor or what? And how is it replaced?
