is it all over? big mistake! need some 'that's ok' comments! 200 1989

Car is a 1989 240.

I can't believe it! I am sooooo bummed out over this thing I did. In a nutshell: I messed up the second spark-plug thread (the engine, not the plug itself!)! I was able to put it back decently, but it looks like it's not screwed all the way down! The car fires and idles fine, seems like nothing is wrong. QUESTIONS!

1. What happens to the shaved metal pieces that came off the engine thread? Do they fall into the engine? eeeek! Or please tell me they most likely will just exit the engine via the exhaust pipe.

2. Can I and should I continue to drive the car with the second plug not completely screwed in? I think I can torque it more and probably screw it in tightly, but I was too afraid to turn it anymore with the fear of shaving more metal into the engine.

3. Is there Hope?

Thanks guys! I need some reassurance and understanding! I am feeling soooo melancholy! wah wah wah!!!!!!
