Engine seals blown on both cars 200 1979

Hey guys! This forum is wonderful. My '79 242 and my'84 242TI have blown seals. The '79 "flame trap" was an easy fix since it is above the intake. The '84 turbo has no flame trap so I am not sure why the pressure builds up or hoe to fix it. My other big question is how to fix the seals. Do I have to pull the engine? I can't do that. I do not have the equipment. If I have to pull the engine to replace the seals what is a mechanic likely to charge to do it? Both cars smell of burned oil after a drive on the highway. I suspect oil is pouring out on the exhaust. I am tired of pouring oil into these beauties. Help!!!! JG
