Radiators, 2-row or 3 row? 200 1980

I need to replace the radiator in my '80 245. I took the old one out, but it was a lot worse then I thought. So, it looks like replacement is the option right now.

My questions: Does anyone know if the 2 core radiators that volvo offers have metal or plastic tanks?

Are the 3-row radiators from that much better? Do they justify the price?

This car does not have working AC, and the weather in Portland rarely climbs above 100 Degrees. As much as I'd like to have working AC, it probably won't happen. Considering this, is a 3-row that much more effective?

Thanks everyone.
