Are power stage, ignition module, ignition amplifier all the same part? 700 1990

If they are the same, I don't seem to find it anywhere on my car. I found a 3-hole plug next to the air cleaner box by the inside of the fender, but it is not plugged into anything. I'm wondering if someone in the past removed the part. The wires are red/yellow, green/yellow, and orange. Since I don't see an ignition module anywhere, I'm wondering if this loose plug is supposed to plug into that if it were there. What do you think?
