Bouncing Speedometer 900 1993

Hello,

My speedometer stays at 0 until I hit about 55 mph and then the needle goes to 80 mph. It will stay at 80 unless I go below a certain speed, 55 mph I'm guessing. The odometer works fine. What should I check?
