Performance loss 700

Hi:

I've got a 1986 Turbo version of your car with a 1992 Engine Swap that has 68,000 miles. This car really has some zip for a four cylinder. The A/C really puts some load on it though. I can really feel the perfomance loss when running A/C. Don't get me wrong, it's not a dog, but I can really feel it. Gas mileage suffers too. down to 17 mpg. from 21 in mixed city driving. Great A/C though, changed over to R134A. It will freeze you out!!

I was curious about this too. I guess being it's the 4 cylinder it might have something to do with torque. My brother had a 4 cyl. Toyota that wouldn't get out of it's own way when the A/C was on. A real Dog!! My wife has a V6 Pontiac, no performance loss here.
