TURBO REPLACEMENT MISTAKE

Yes you probably should have converted to a water cooled turbo. (I was thinking 86-87 was the change over years). Easy and worth it, but don't sweat it now.

137,000 miles is NOTHING. If you car leaks oil, it leaks oil because the seals/gaskets are bad, not because of synthetic oil. If you have oil leaks, fix them. My car is approaching 239,000 miles. No oil leaks. Synthetic oil is generally better for seals. The myth started because when you do switch a leaky car over to synthetic oil it leaks faster, because synthetics do flow better - this is a good thing.
