740 s/w humming from the back end 700 1985

hello

I have an 1985 745 gle n/a with the zf trany. 220Kmiles
I have what i belive to be a strange humming comming from the back end.
It is worst at highway speed 60mph but it comes in in cycles it starts at around 30mph then goes away as i accelerate it comes back at 60mph and seems to deminish as i get closer to 70mph.
it does not sound like wheel bearing as it does not change around corners.
Is this a common problem, are there any bearings on the shaft that could be doing this? Or the dif.? It has been doing this for 2yrs and has not gotten changed.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

All the best.
