Can 960 rims be straightened? 900

When I bought this car I didn't know about the rims,all 4 are straight on the outside but on the inside 3 are warped a bit.I've heard that you can use a soft 4lb dead-blow hammer and true them back up.My concern would be cracking the rim.Has anyone ever tryed this?I dont want to risk that since I dont have any extras yet and I cant find any for under $100 a piece.I like the look of the factory rims and if anyone wants to consider a trade I have 7 240 turbo rims (VIRGO'S I think they're called).
