Here's one to remember 700 1989

Well, the 740 is back on the road (refer back to message 89 740, where do I begin).
After replacing the ignition switch (no big deal since it was definitely bad) I was ready to go after the in tank pump. At the advice of a lot of you I had ordered a radio suppression relay. I put it in today, still no start. I looked at it again getting ready to check for voltage at the relay and noticed that I could see part of the crimped on terminal at the end of the wire sticking out below the connector. I pushed all of the wires up into the connector as far as I could and, you guessed it, she started right up. I just barely wiggled the wires and it died again. Not having a replacement pigtail handy I forced all the wires up through the top of the connector, slightly crimped them so they'd fit tighter on the relay and put it back together and she's running. I still think that I'll have to go after that intank pump. When I got done she still wouldn't idle too well, tended to die and I only had 1/4 of a tank. Went down and filled up and she idles better, still not great tho. Is there an idle adjustment on the 89 740?
Thanks for all your advice, I hadn't even heard of the radio suppression relay until joining this forum.
