Important question about timing belt position movement 700 1991

Hi,

I just replaced the timing belt on by 745 with 150K miles(this is the first time I've ever done this) and noted that the original position of the timing belt was located as far back on the teeth of the cam shaft and crank shaft wheels as you can place the belt. So when I put the new belt on I put it on in the same place. 200 miles have gone by I took the top cover off to examine the belt and noticed that it have moved about almost 1/4" forward(is this normal for it to move a small amount?). I am concerned that the timing belt will keep moving forward until it comes off and leave me stranded?

Mike
