A/C and Heater Interior Control Switch for a 740 GLE 700 1988

I recently bought a 740 GLE that needed a little work. The mechanic I have has been able to take care of most of the major stuff but we can't seem to find the interior A/C and Heater switch for love or money. Well that is not entirely true; the dealer wants $600 for a new one. Since I paid $900 total for the car I do not want to pay this price. If anyone has any great salvage yard tips or even has the part on their hands I would be willing to buy the part and pay for the shipping costs. It is very important that I find this part, as I will need my defroster in the winter. (Please keep in mind that I am a veterinary student who is short on funds).
