Master cylinder reservoir compartments 900

I bled the 1993 960 brakes recently after replacing the hoses and pads.
Everything seemed fine, brakes are OK and no leaks.
When I looked at the master cylinder reservoir today the fluid (originally straw colored DOT 4) is getting darker.
Normal over time I thought, but this is occurring in only 3 out of 4 "compartments" in the reservoir. The forward compartment fluid still looks like new.
This compartment is for one of the rear brakes I think.
Any thoughts on what is going on?

Thanks again,

Dan
