Tachometer Reads Low 200

There is a small potentiometer that can be turned to adjust your tach. I have sold spare tachs in the past and have come across this slot type knob several times. I would suggest that you take out your tach and turn the small adjustment knob half a turn in either direction. The knob can be found on the circuit board that runs the tach and it can be turned by a very small screw driver. I'm not certain which way will make the tach read higher but you'll have to try one way and then the other way in order to find out. I believe I rigged up some wires to the tach when it was outside of the instrument cluster in order to save me the time of having to pull out the tach everytime I needed to make a adjustment but that will be something you'll have to figure out as well. You'll also need some sort of RPM reader so that you know what your tach should be reading that way you can make the nessecary adjustments. I used my timing gun because it has a built in RPM meter. I have noticed that recnetly there has been a slew of used Volvo 240-260 parts on Ebay but it's all stuff you can find at your local pick & pull for much cheaper. I would just remind you to take extreme care when bidding on some of the junk that someone is WORKING HARD to sell to you. I hope this info helps. Good Luck!!!

Sincerely,
