Re-Post......Hard Starting 700

B230F engine.....since last post regarding the hard to start I have changed the fuel filter. Now it is harder to start than ever, needs to be cranked and cranked and there is a small continous hissing noise from underneath where the filter is.
Could the hissing be a leak in the hose from the fuel pump/fiter? Would this cause the hard starting? I want to be able to insert key crank 3-4 times and bang away we go.
