turbo exchange question /semi-urgent 700 1988

Cheers,

I am replacing the headgasket on my 88 740T. I took the exhaust manifold off with the turbo connected. Today I noticed that if I push the endshaft around that there is a considerable amount of play. The turbo is a TD-05 and has the clamp type connection and says volvo on the side but I have another turbo from an older car with many less miles (250k for the TD-05 and 115 for the other.) My question is that everything seems to match up fine except the vacuum line that comes from the intake. The whole apparatus (CBV?) that it plugs into is not on the older turbo charger. Also, is there any difference in PSI between the two t-chargers and could I drive the car until I get the old style CBV from a pick n pull? I'd like to swap these two. Thanks,

JS
