Mirror installation questions 700

Subsequent mirror question: since my mirror was savagely ripped off, maybe it would be best if I bought a used one and self-installed. Is it an easy job to install the drivers side mirror? The perpetrator left the rear housing of the mirror "on", so it's reusable. Inside the housing are: two wires, one round rubber seal, four screws (inside seal), and broken white plastic under each of the screws. Can I buy the innards of the mirror seperately, or do I need to buy the whole unit? Is the install more or less difficult in either case?

Thanks for tips!
