Bilstein front strut cartridge install---now it makes noise. 700 1990

OK, the stock volvo struts were shot so I bought some Bilstein strut inserts from IPD and installed them. The stock bump stops won't fit...the Bilstein shock rod is about an two inches in diameter where the old bump stop slid down over the uniform 7/8" diameter stock volvo shock.

Does the bilstein have an internal bump stop or do I need a separate part?

PS..tightened shock nut to strut to specs, as well as jesus nut on the top of the strut and the strut to strut mount nuts.

Has anyone installed these IPD bilstein strut cartridges and what parts did you have to reuse/discard?
