B230FT dies at 4800 rpm 700

Greetings,

Car is a 91 744T. It's been doing this for the last 10K miles and the problem hasn't gotten any better or worse. It will happen in 1st or 2nd gear, right about 4800 RPM, if you're deep into the throttle, it just falls flat on it's face. Boost guage goes way into the vacuum and rpms drop way off. If I lift the throttle and let it shift into the next gear, I can accelerate again and have plenty of power, as long as I stay below 4500 RPM. I was playing around with it today and it will basically run at 4800 rpm in 1st as long as I feather the throttle, as soon as I punch it, it falls flat on it's face again.

Any ideas?
