Coast to Coast in a 245 - Victoria, BC --> Halifax, NS via NE USA

Greetings,

My name is Jaak and I'm days, sometimes I wonder if it's "daze", away from embarking on a Victoria, BC to Halifax, NS move in my '81 245. It's been gone over, the necessary repairs made and new loadsprings and shocks installed in the rear. So far in the last year it's taken me from Vancouver Island to California twice and down to the Grand Canyon and back.

I'd love to have the pleasure of cruising across the country in my '60 544, but alas, the 245 needs to pull a trailer with a spare B20 and various other 544 stuff. The 544 will be shipped out by rail on Monday or Tuesday and the 245 trek will begin shortly thereafter.

At the bottom of my posting I've included a "rough" route. That being said, my route is fairly flexible and I'm open to suggestions for scenic drives, "must-see" natural/developed sites/areas along the way, parks, interesting "ma & pa" stores/restaurants, anything quirky that may be good for a laugh along the way or anything else you can think of that may be of interest. I have preference for secondary roads and exploring backroads.

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Jaak

My route will likely consist of:

Hwy 99 to Whistler, Lilooet
Hwy 97 to Kamloops
Hwy 1 to Revelstoke/Banff/Calgary
Hwy 1 back to Banff
93 North to Jasper
Hwy 16 to Edmonton and down to Portage la Praire, Manitoba
Hwy 1 to Kenora, Ontario
Either 71/11 or 17 to Thunderbay - any suggestions as to which route is more scenic?
Hwy 17 E. to Elliot Lake
Hwy 6 south to Manatoulin Island and S. Ontario for a few days.
S. Ontario to Peterborough/Kingston/Ottawa
Ottawa -> NY State -> I'll likely backtrack and go to Clayton NY to the Antique Boat Museum
From Clayton pick-up Hwy 3
Circumnavigate 1/2 of Lake Champlain via Hwy 9 and Hwy 2
Hwy 2 Through VT, NH to Bangor, Maine and then either Hwy 9 or Hwy 1 into New Brunswick
From New Brunswick to Nova Scotia the route will be dependent on how much time I still have available.
